About Us

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation is to conserve Wisconsin’s wildlife, natural resources and outdoor sporting heritage through conservation education and advocating for strong conservation policies on state and national levels.

The Wisconsin Wildlife Federation is the state’s largest conservation organization comprised of over 200 hundred conservation organizations. The Federation is a 501 c 3 tax exempt nonprofit, member supported organization and is an affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation.

We are dedicated to:

— conservation education

—the support for hunting, fishing, trapping and other nature-based outdoor recreational pursuits

—the protection of fish and wildlife habitat

—assuring access to public lands and waters

—support for the Second Amendment and promotion of the shooting sports

The Federation pursues those goals with the Wisconsin DNR, the Natural Resources Board, the Wisconsin Legislature, the US Congress and several Federal Agencies. We work to advance these goals by partnering with our affiliate organizations, the National Wildlife Federation and numerous conservation and environmental organizations.

In addition to promoting conservation policy, the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation is committed to educating young people about conservation and outdoor issues. To help us achieve this goal, we have a growing number of youth educational programs including conservation scholarships to UW Stevens Point, our robust Conservation Leadership Corps training program, Youth Outdoor Skill Day grants, camp scholarship to the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station, financial support for the MacKenzie Center in Poynette, support for the Green School Network, financial support for KAMO (Kids and Mentors Outdoors) and our K-12 wildlife educational trunk program.

For more information about our current policies and issues, please see the Legislation section of our web site.
